Spirit of Math Contest Prep

Held globally, the Spirit of Math® International Contest gives students from grades 1 to 6 the opportunity to prepare, apply, and showcase their knowledge on the global stage, and provides an opportunity for students to have fun and develop their mathematical problem-solving abilities.

The Contest Prep courses are designed for internal and external students who want to build their problem-solving skills and prepare for the annual International SoM Contest. 

Each course consists of six 1.5-hour classes to work through some previous SoM Contests.
Grade 3-4 classes will be offered at
9:00 p.m. Eastern Time and Grade 5-6 classes will be offered at 10:45 p.m. Eastern Time on the following dates:

Lesson 1 - January 23
Lesson 2 - January 24
Lesson 3 - January 30
Lesson 4 - January 31
Lesson 5 - February 6
Lesson 6 - February 7

Each class includes cooperative work, drills, problem of the day, homework take-up, past contests and teaching of contest-related math concepts and strategies. During the last class, students will write a practice contest.
